Eyecare.
Eyesight changes quite naturally with age and most older people need spectacles of some type to help them see properly and continue to live life to the full.
Regular eye care for older eyes is important as ocular disease can be more prevalent. During an eye examination we are also able to give advice, if required, on improving lighting and the use of special magnifiers or low visual aids for those whose vision cannot be fully corrected with new spectacles.
The NHS funds eye examinations for all over 60s and supports the purchase of spectacles for many people both young and old that are on statutory low income and benefits.
